It was an act of petulance which raised questions over the future of a Leeds United legend.

Tony Yeboah's reaction to being substituted at White Hart Lane after 73 minutes in March 1997 displayed defiance and frustration to the travelling faithful all of whom had come to idolise Leeds United' s number 21. It would prove to be one only six games Yeboah played under new manager George Graham before he was sold to Hamburger SV early the following season. The game finished 1-0 to the hosts with the Whites failing to a score a goal in a Premier League game for the 17th time that season. They finished the campaign in 11th position scoring just 28 league goals. Brian Deane and Lee Sharpe were the club's joint top Premier League goalscorers with just five goals each.
