'Clarke 1-0' - 12 photos from Leeds United's 1972 FA Cup Final win

"I’ve waited and sweated years for this day,” proclaimed manager Don Revie.

Allan Clarke's header after 53 minutes was enough to secure Leeds United's first, and only, FA Cup final win in their illustrious history. The jubilation at full-time was tempered by a last-minute injury to Mick Jones, who dislocated his elbow and had to be helped up the steps by Norman Hunter to receive his winners' medal. The victory against Arsenal will also be remembered for Leeds United's FA Cup final song - Leeds! Leeds! Leeds! - which went on to became a club anthem (you might know it as Marching On Together!). These photos, pusblished courtesy of Varley Picture Agency and Getty, turn back the clock to that memorable day at Wembley. READ MORE: 25 photos to take you back to Leeds in 1972 LOVE LEEDS?
