The Tivoli Cinema on Acre Road raises the curtain on a decade of memories from around Middleton in the 1930s. This photo was taken just three years after the 1,152 seat theatre opened in May 1934. It would remain a much-loved gem in the heart of the community for three decades until it closed in May 1960 after a screening of 'I was a Teenage Werewolf' although children’s matinees were presented until June 1961.
