The airport tunnel which would allow traffic to pass under the runway extension takes shape alongside the Bradford to Harrogate road.
8. April 1983
Work on the runway extension is flat out.
9. May 1983
Brand new landing lights on the Horsforth side of the runway were brought into operation.
10. July 1983
The multi-million pound runway extension project was fast taking shape. The extended car park had already boosted spaces from 600 to 900.
