1. 1898
The Mexborough Arms which was famous for the size of the bowling green. The licensee is James Hill, a horse drawn cab is in the road. Plans for a new public house began in 1924 and a replacement was completed by 1928.
2. August 1937
Dominion Cinema on Montreal Avenue which opened in January 1934. The last film to be screened was The Quiller Memorandum starring Alec Guinness in March 1967. The building then became a bingo hall.
3. 1931
