View of the platform looking west at Garforth Railway Station. In the centre is the road bridge on Aberford Road, unusual in that it is built at a slanting angle.

Police officers called in to Garforth Trench Pit due to a coal strike with the sergeant to the right and what is believed to be the foreman of the pit at the centre next to a sign with the year. The strike was caused by poor working conditions and a flood disaster.
