It was a year that saw late a late-night, Caribbean-themed party at Tropical World, a popular pub refurbishment and one of the city's biggest annual fundraisers take over Roundhay Park.

And 2002 in Roundhay was also the year when new educational roots began to take shape, as construction work got under way on the Roundhay School building.
