York Road and Stoney Rock Lane dominate the roll call of photos in this decade-long gallery of memories which feature familiar landmarks and shops from back in the day. The images are published courtesy of photographic archive Leodis, which is run by Leeds Library & Information Service. The junction of Stoney Rock Lane and Rock View Road. Hope's Newsagent and Tobacconist is on the corner. There is a large wall advertisement for Players Navy cut cigarettes above the shop doorway. No.209, with blind down Mark Kirby, fishmonger, no.211 also with blind down Joseph Dean, greengrocer. Gallons Ltd, branch of grocers dealing in dairy foods, tea, coffee and bacon as specialities.
