Residents in Cross Gates and neighbouring Whinmoor had plenty to talk about during 12 months which featured a visit from a larger than life television butcher. Actor John Savident, who played Fred Elliot in Coronation Street, visited LS15 to talk to shoppers and popped into Crossgates Shopping Centre. Elsewhere pupils were celebrating SATs results, the efforts of a long serving charity shop worker were recognised and fundraising was making a difference to the life of local residents and beyond.
