5. Upstairs Downstairs

6. Mecca Locarno Ballroom
Located in the County Arcade the Mecca Locarno Ballroom is nothing short of a city institution. It opened in November 1938 and closed in 1969 by which time new venue had been opened in the Merrion Centre. This picture was taken sometime in the 1960s.
7. Belinda's
Do you remember Belinda's? The nightclub on Lower Briggate enjoyed a loyal following during the 1970s and into the 1980s when it underwent a £75,000 facelift.
8. Heaven and Hell
Heaven and Hell on Eastgate was one of Leeds’ first nightclubs to embrace the ‘dual dance floor’ concept and, by the late 1970s, had become well-known as a punk and alternative venue.
