The new Leeds cafe bar encouraging people to talk about mental health


Personal trainer turned mental health coach Vicky Fytche is opening Better Days in the Grand Arcade on Wednesday May 19.
Better Days has partnered with Leeds Mind to raise money for the charity, which will offer external professional support and counselling.

Leeds Mind offers a wide range of mental health services across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
The Good Footing Charity, which runs well-being walks, will be offering walk and talk r sessions around Leeds city centre to help boost mental and physical well-being.
Vicky said: "We are working with lots of volunteers to bring as many free services as possible for both children and adults.

Hide Ad"I am so excited to open Better Days on May 19 and bring a great atmosphere to Leeds that anyone can come too and enjoy a chat, a coffee, a drink and when restrictions are lifted, even a dance."
Speaking during Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from May 10 to 16, Vicky said: "Better Days will have a mission to encourage people to talk about mental health and get the necessary support if needed."
Vicky, 26, was a personal trainer who decided to change focus to look after people’s psychological wellbeing.
She has studied for a diploma in mental health awareness and runs workshops and seminars for office workers, students and retired people.

Hide AdThe workshops help people to deal with depression and manage anxiety and highlight the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions.
Vicky has worked as a freelance senior wellbeing coach for the last two years.
The YEP launched its #speakyourmind campaign in 2016 to raise awareness of mental health issues and combat the stigma that sometimes exists around mental health.
