Leeds Cares has launched a new campaign called 'Sponsor the Sparkle' with the idea of cheering up NHS staff, patients and families this year and it also gives businesses the opportunity to continue their support for the NHS during this extremely difficult year.
Businesses will see their star light up Leeds General Infirmary, overlooking Millennium Square, in a special switch on event on Monday November.30. The stars range from 80cm
up to 350cm in diameter, so collectively, with the support of numerous businesses, it is hoped that the display will light up the Leeds sky.
Leeds based financial company Lowell is the first business to sign up to sponsor some Sparkle and with schemes like toy deliveries for the Children’s Hospital and gift drop offs for adult patients facing restrictions this year due to coronavirus, the charity says that support for Sponsor the Sparkle is needed more than ever.
Laura Webb, Interim Head of Corporate Partnerships at Leeds Cares, said: “A huge thank you to Lowell for sponsoring a star this Christmas, their on-going support is invaluable. Without support from local businesses we simply wouldn’t be able to what we do.
"The money raised by our Sparkle campaign will help us spread festive cheer to the thousands of people who will receive care from Leeds Teaching hospitals over the Christmas period.”
