Primary and secondary schools across the city have undergone rigorous 'deep cleans' of all contact points - such as door handles, light switches and desks - to prevent the spread of the virus. Children displaying symptoms of the virus such as vomiting or diarrhoea are advised to stay off school until the symptoms have stopped for two days. 2. Boston Spa Academy
The academy on Clifford Moor Road was closed on Tuesday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 11 for a deep clean. A parent said a teacher told his child that "hundreds of students" has been taken ill at the academy. Photo: Google
3. Farnley Academy
The Gorse academy underwent a deep clean over the weekend and was closed on Monday, December 9 after students and pupils fell ill with symptoms of the Norovirus. The school reopened as normal on Tuesday. Photo: Google
4. Richmond Hill Academy
The primary academy was closed on Monday and Tuesday for a deep clean after students and staff fell ill with symptoms of the Norovirus. The school reopened as normal on Wednesday.
5. Morley Academy
The academy was closed on Monday for a deep clean after the Norovirus spread amongst students and pupils. The school reopened as normal on Tuesday.
6. Leeds East Academy
The academy in Seacroft closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 after staff and students fell ill. The school underwent a deep clean over the weekend and opened as usual on Monday, December 2.
