We were told to bring face masks and coverings and that this was now considered very normal for everyone from nurses to clerical staff and visitors

A volunteer was sat at the entrance handing out masks for people coming into the wing, and visitors wore masks in the waiting area such as here

On the department floor it was almost eerily quiet, with the hospital much less busy than usual

Face masks are provided for everyone walking through the door - and are also compulsory

Normally 500 people a day would be coming through the doors for a check up or appointment - but now it maxes out at 30
