Yorkshire hospitals record three new coronavirus deaths as local lockdown measures introduced

Three new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at hospitals in Yorkshire, according to the latest NHS figures.

Two patients died under the care of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and one under the care of Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

It comes as local lockdown measures are introduced in parts of West Yorkshire, banning different households from meeting indoors.

The rise of three new deaths brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths at Yorkshire hospitals to 2,895.

This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed, and for data from the tests to be validated.
