'We will stop people who do not abide': Police issue warning to Leeds residents with list of only reasons to leave home

Police have warned residents of Leeds that the force will stop people 'who do not abide' by the coronavirus lockdown rules.

Leeds East police team posted a list of 14 reasons residents can justify leaving their homes.

However, the force said to 'keep to the rules' and stay inside for all other reasons.

Police will be 'out again in the area' and stopping people 'who do not abide by the rules', the post said.

The 14 reasons listed by police were:

1. Get basic necessities and supplies for essential upkeep, maintenance

2. Obtain money

3. Taking exercise once a day

4. Seeking medical advice

5. Providing emergency assistance

6. Providing care

7. Travelling to work

8. Attending a funeral

9. Donating blood

10. Meeting a legal obligation, court/bail etc

11. Accessing critical public services

12. Continuing shared parental access to a child

13. Moving house

14. To avoid injury or escaping a risk of harm
