They join the rest of Yorkshire and The Humber in Tier 3, following the Government's review of the tier system on Wednesday. Infection rates are now climbing across most areas of Yorkshire, but remain far lower than in London and the South East. These are the current infection rates of every local authority area in Yorkshire, listed from highest to lowest rates. The latest figures, which are for the seven days to December 26, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). The rate is expressed as the new number of new cases per 100,000 population. Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
