The service will launch this week and will start its trial at Pharmacy2U’s head office in Thorpe Park.

A report requested by the Government's chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, found the UK could see 120,000 new coronavirus-related deaths throughout the winter.

It is therefore more important than ever for people to make sure they’re vaccinated against the flu as we enter into the colder months.

Appointments are available to book on Pharmacy2U’s website and the procedures will be carried out by Pharmacy2U’s team of pharmacists while St John Ambulance first aiders will provide support within the drive-through centre.

Only eligible patients can book an appointment, which includes people over the age of 65, pregnant people or people with certain medical conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes.

The service is being trialled in order to make sure patients are getting their flu vaccination safely and easily.

After the initial trial, the service is planned to roll out nationally in order to support more people.

Pharmacy2U said staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE and will conform to the highest NHS and Covid-19 standards while administering jabs.
