More than 600 coronavirus cases confirmed in Leeds as UK hospital deaths top 10,000

A further 84 people in Leeds have tested positive for coronavirus, the latest figures from Public Health England (PHE) have revealed.

It brings the total confirmed cases in Leeds to 628, accurate as of 9am today.

There are now 4,845 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across Yorkshire, up by 323 from Saturday's update.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said it was a "sombre day" as the hospital death toll from coronovirus in the UK passed the 10,000 mark.

Yorkshire has seen a record daily death total today, with confirmed coronavirus fatalities rising by 60.
