Location of every new coronavirus death in Yorkshire hospitals as Leeds total rises

A further 27 people have died in Yorkshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus, the latest figures have revealed.

The NHS England data reflects deaths from the latest reporting period which is 5pm on Wednesday, May 20.

The rise of 27 deaths brings the total Covid-19 death toll in the region's hospitals to 2,356.

Eight more coronavirus deaths have been reported in hospitals in Leeds.

Two patients died on Monday, May 18, five patients died on Tuesday, May 19 and one patient died on Wednesday, May 20.

A total of 298 people have now died in hospitals in Leeds after testing positive for Covid-19, the highest number of all hospital trusts in Yorkshire.

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death in hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed, and for data from the tests to be validated.

The new deaths confirmed across each hospital trust in Yorkshire are as follows:
