Public Health England guidelines mean that schools have measures in place to tackle any coronavirus cases that may occur within the school. For example, schools were told to keep pupils in class or year-sized 'bubbles'. This allows schools to easily identify those who may need to self-isolate if someone within the bubble tests positive for the virus. Since schools reopened in Leeds, a number of "bubbles" have been collapsed due to positive coronavirus cases. These are the the secondary schools that have been affected as as of Friday, October 8.
1. Roundhay School
The Roundhay School Year 9 bubble was disbanded on Tuesday, September 15.
2. Allerton High School
A Year 11 student at Allerton High School tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, September 16.
3. The Rodillian Academy
The Rodillian Academy confirmed that a Year 11 student had tested positive for the virus on Monday, September 14.
4. Leeds East Academy
A Year 8 pupil at Leeds East Academy, in Seacroft, tested positive for the virus after developing symptoms on Monday, September 14. A staff member later tested positive for coronavirus.
5. Pudsey Grangefield School
Pupils were sent home after two people tested positive for coronavirus at Pudsey Grangefield School on Thursday, September 17.
6. Lawnswood School
Two people tested positive at Lawnswood School for coronavirus on Friday, September 18.
