Leeds meal prep service delivers over 200 meals to NHS staff during coronavirus

D's Meal Prep - owned by Dale Spink from Leeds - have been commended for delivering full meals to Leeds hospitals to support NHS staff.

Meals included birchers, porridge, smoothies and fruit pots.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Dale said he was 'proud to be British right now'.

He said: "We know how hard it is for everyone to come to terms with the virus and adjust to the difficulties we’re all facing together.

"This was just a little thank you to all the NHS staff for there unbelievable none stop hard work.

"We know it’s been hard for them to get their daily necessities so we wanted to support them and take a little weight off their shoulders by providing them all with our healthy meals to give them a little fuel through there long shifts.

"We are proud to be British right now and thank the NHS from the bottom of our hearts."

Dale and his staff were commended by Leeds residents on social media.

One said: "Brilliant work all!"

Another added: "These NHS staff are heroes."
