Flights from Leeds Bradford Airport will still go ahead after parts of West Yorkshire were placed into lockdown.

Special measures were put in place in Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale on Thursday, July 31.

This is due to a spike in confirmed coronavirus cases in the area.

People who live in the affected areas are not allowed to mix with other households in private homes or gardens.

They can still visit hospitality businesses like pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions - but two households will not be allowed to go together.

However, a Leeds Bradford Airport spokesman has confirmed that scheduled flights will still be going ahead.

The spokesman said: "This is an evolving situation.

"We continue to work closely with Government and Public Health England, and will work within the guidance provided.

"We have done this at every stage to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our staff, our partners and our passengers
