York and all areas of North Yorkshire are currently in the 'high' Tier 2 level of restrictions, while West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and The Humber are in the 'very high' Tier 3 category. The tiers will be reviewed on December 16 and while local councils are pushing for Tier 2 restrictions, it will be the Government that has the final say. These are the current infection rates of every local authority area in Yorkshire, listed from highest to lowest rates. The latest figures, which are for the seven days to December 9, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). 1. Rotherham - rising
Rotherham had a rate of 205.3 (545 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, up from 196.3 (521 cases) the previous week
2. Doncaster - falling
Doncaster had a rate of 190.5 (594 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, down from 204.9 (639 cases) the previous week
3. Hull - falling
Hull had a rate of 189.8 (493 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, down from 214.8 (558 cases) the previous week
4. Bradford - falling
Bradford had a rate of 168.2 (908 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, down from 210.6 (1,137 cases) the previous week
5. Calderdale - falling
Calderdale had a rate of 166.9 (353 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, down from 220.4 (466 cases) the previous week
6. Kirklees - falling
Kirklees had a rate of 163.7 (720 new cases) in the seven days to December 9, down from 209.4 (921 cases) the previous week
