The total number of people in Yorkshire who have tested positive for the virus is 66 as of 9am on Monday, Public Health England (PHE) confirmed.

The Prime Minister has set out the need for "drastic action" with anyone in a household with someone displaying symptoms urged to self-isolate.

In its breakdown of cases by council area, PHE said the number of confirmed cases in Leeds has actually dropped from 19 to 14.

This is because the daily totals can fluctuate between local authority areas, with cases rising in other parts of Yorkshire.

Most people with mild symptoms of coronavirus are no longer being tested for Covid-19, with testing limited mainly to hospitals.

This means the actual number of infected people across the region is likely to be far higher, with the Health Secretary warning at least 10,000 people could be infected in the UK.
