Maria Mallaband - who manage Corinthian House Care Home on Green Hill Lane - said they had identified positive Covid cases at the home through "robust testing" of both residents and staff.

They said they had followed the protocols required following the outbreak to avoid further infections.

A spokesperson for Maria Mallaband said “As part of these infection control measures, the home is currently closed to visitors.

"We understand this can cause concern for residents and their relatives, but it is necessary to ensure the outbreaks are brought under control as quickly as possible and we thank relatives for their co-operation and understanding.

"Corinthian House are in close communication with the external regulators and support teams to keep them updated of the situation.

"The home is being supported by Maria Mallaband’s senior team including our internal quality and infection control specialists.

Maria Mallaband said they continue to be committed to work within the recommended Covid Government guidelines within our care homes.
