Coronavirus Leeds: Staff and students told to self-isolate as case confirmed at Leeds College of Building

A member of staff at Leeds College of Building has tested positive for coronavirus.

The college was notified of the positive test on Monday September 28.

The staff member works at the College's North Street Campus.

Leeds College of Building remains open, but staff and students who have come into contact with the individual have been told to self-isolate.

All other students are advised to attend the college as normal.

Leeds College of Building principal and CEO Derek Whitehead said the case has been contained and there are no other reported cases at this time.

Mr Whitehead said: "We appreciate that this news may be of concern to staff, students and parents/carers, please be assured we are taking this very seriously and have rigorous standards in place.

"We are working closely with the DfE and Public Health England to minimise risk of further infection and ensure all campuses are as safe as possible for the College community."
