Brand new Armley soft play centre thekidscastle forced to close for 10 days due to coronavirus case

A new Leeds soft play centre has been forced to temporarily close due to a positive coronavirus case.

thekidscastle, based in Armley, announced the closure with 'immediate effect' on social media this morning (Sep 24)

The centre's owner Aimee Holmes, 32. has been contacted by the NHS track and trace service to advise of a confirmed case.

Anyone who has visited the centre since Friday, September 18 may be at risk and would need to be tested, the centre said.

In a statement released on social media, thekidscastle said: "We have closed with immediate effect as we have been contacted by the NHS track and trace to advise of a confirmed case being at the premises.

"We have made the decision to close to keep our customers and staff safe and will reopen 04-10-20.

"Anyone who has been in since Friday 18th September may be at risk and would need to be tested.

"I understand people have booked online to come and I will be working my way through contacting to arrange refunds.

"Please bear with me and I apologise for the short notice on some of your bookings being cancelled.

"Please private message me if you have any questions and I will reply."

Aimee told the Yorkshire Evening Post the news had left staff 'devastated' - just weeks after the centre opened its doors.

She added: "It’s just devastating to be open only four week and then have to shut again due to the virus.

"Keeping the customers and staff safe are the main priority to me at the moment."
