The Government has outlined the social distancing measures we should all take, such as avoiding non-essential travel, large gatherings and visiting restaurants, pubs or bars. The guidance states people can leave their house to visit open public spaces like parks for exercise, as long as they maintain a safe distance to others. With this in mind, here are 10 things you can still do in Leeds during the coronavirus pandemic. Always take care and follow the guidelines to protect your health.
7. Enjoy a free National Trust visit
If you're lucky enough to live near a National Trust site, then why not take a free walk around the grounds? All buildings and cafes are closed, but the trust has waived its usual entry fees to its grounds.
8. Take a walk in the grounds of Lotherton Hall
Lotherton Hall is closed, but the grounds and gardens remain open. Take a walk and enjoy the country house from afar.
9. Cook a meal with fresh produce
Both Malcolm Michael's Butchers and Neil's Greengrocers remain open in Kirkgate Market - and they are now offering a delivery service. Cook a meal with fresh and local produce.
10. Get some exercise in one of Leeds' parks
If you feel healthy, and keeping to social distancing guidelines, all Leeds' parks are open for you to enjoy a walk, run or outdoor workout.
