Here is a rundown of the eight secondary schools in Leeds to have had an Ofsted report published during 2022, and received a “good” or “outstanding” rating.
7. West Oaks School - Outstanding
The report, published earlier this month, stated: "Leaders have continued to ensure that West Oaks provides ‘excellence for everyone’. Pupils are well taught and well cared for. Leaders provide an exceptional curriculum for pupils, including for their personal development. Pupils are very well prepared for their next steps. Parents and carers feel supported. They speak highly of the school’s work." Photo: google maps
8. Southway School, Belle Isle - Good
Pupils are referred to Southway school in Belle Isle if they have struggled in mainstream education. The Ofsted report, published in March 2022, stated: "Some had been permanently excluded. Others were at risk of being so. Many had not attended school for months. Southway offers them something different and the chance to make a fresh start. The staff give pupils hope. They are constantly positive and encouraging. They instil renewed belief in many pupils." Pictured are are Dahna Millar, student Brandon Howey and Headteacher Andy Percival in 2021. Photo: Simon Hulme
