Temple Moor Sixth Form will be throwing open its doors from 5pm to 7pm to offer prospective Year 12 students the chance to experience what it has to offer.

“Temple Moor Sixth Form is a vibrant and thriving community of individuals,” says Principal Matthew West. “Every student, regardless of their ability, will be challenged and supported to reach their potential through high-quality teaching, bespoke learning, and tailored advice and guidance.”

The ideal learning platform

“Temple Moor Sixth Form is the ideal learning platform to access next steps such as university, apprenticeship or employment. We are a growing sixth form that puts the individual at the heart of all we do,” he continues.

The emphasis is firmly on helping each student to realise their potential, and helping them to prepare for the world of work that awaits them.

“Progression from our sixth form is led by experienced experts keen to enable all to reach their potential. At Temple Moor we ensure we use our independent careers advisor to track labour market information to ensure that students have the most up-to-date and relevant information on apprenticeships and employment opportunities,” adds Mr West.

“Our Post 16 Curriculum has been designed to provide a wide range of choice of subjects and courses to suit different students’ needs and aspirations.

“We have established working partnerships across Leeds and North Yorkshire to provide the best educational experience for our young people.

“Offering a broad and varied curriculum gives students the power of choice and allows students to explore a range of both A Level and Applied Generals. We think it is important that students are offered every opportunity to further their education, so alongside Level 3 courses we also have additional course offers such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and Core Maths.”

Guidance and support

“At Temple Moor we are rightly proud of the academic success of our sixth form students. Students are supported through their transition to Level 3 study and given the study skills they require to support them in pursuing excellence,” he says.

“Throughout a student’s time at Temple Moor, they can expect to have access to a dedicated Form Tutor, a Phase Leader to discuss academic progress, and a Pastoral Leader to offer support and guidance.”

Well-rounded individuals

At Temple Moor, the team believes “there is more to sixth form than exams and we aim to develop our students to have well-placed confidence in their future by enriching their time with us”, Mr West adds.

“There is a myriad of opportunities for our sixth formers to get involved in and hopefully you will think of some that we haven’t!

“The wellbeing of our students is vital if they are to fulfil their dreams. We appreciate the level of challenge that Level 3 education places on our students and offer structure, pastoral guidance and care to help them help themselves and become confident, independent and happy people.”
