Staff at the University of Leeds and Leeds Trinity University are set to walk out for 14 days as part of the UK's biggest ever university strikes - starting tomorrow.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) at the University of Leeds are striking over two disputes, one over pensions and another over pay and working conditions.

Staff will picket outside the Parkinson Building in Leeds from 8am tomorrow and outside the two main entrances to Leeds Trinity University on Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth.

The strike action will hit 74 universities, including The University of Bradford and the University of Huddersfield, with 14 days of disruption expected in February and March.

The number of universities being hit by the current strike action is the largest since the two-day strike in 2016.

This latest round of 14 strike days means the total number of walkouts will be 22 by March; higher than the previous record of 14 days in 2018.

Fourteen days of strikes will take place over four weeks in February and March.

Week one: February 20 and 21

Week two: February 24 to 26

Week three: February 2 to 5

Week four: February 9 to 13
