Leeds news LIVE: Boris Johnson announces new national lockdown from Wednesday after Covid cases surge

The announcement is in response to surging Covid rates across the UK. Check back here at 8pm for the latest as soon as we have it for how it affects Leeds and Yorkshire.

UPDATE: Leeds will enter a new national lockdown from Wednesday morning. It means you must stay at home except for food, exercise, essential shopping and medicine, and you must work from home unless you have to go out.

- Manor Wood Primary School

- Hugh Gaitskell Primary School

Most schools remain open to the children of key workers/ vulnerable children.
