Key term times and holiday dates for Leeds schools in 2026/2027 as a new year begins

Children across Leeds will return to school from next week.

Summer is officially over and we’re taking a look at the term dates for community, voluntary controlled and special schools across Leeds for the new school year ahead.

Academy, foundation and voluntary aided schools set their own term dates so check with your child’s school if in doubt. Note schools select five days as inset training days.

Here are all the term dates, half term times and bank holidays for Leeds across the remainder of 2026 and into 2027...

Autumn term 2026

• Autumn term (first half): Tuesday, September 1 to Friday, October 23
• Half term: Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30
• Autumn term (second half): Monday, November 2 to Friday, December 18
• Christmas holiday: Monday, December 21 to Friday, January 1

Spring term 2027

• Spring term (first half): Monday, January 4 to Friday, February 12
• Half term: Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19
• Spring term (second half): Monday, February 22 to Friday, April 2
• Easter bank holiday: Friday, March 26 to Monday, March 29
• Easter holiday: Monday, April 5 to Friday, April 16

Summer term 2027

• Summer term (first half): Monday, April 19 to Friday, May 28
• May Day bank holiday: Monday, May 3
• Half term: Monday, May 31 to Friday, June 4
• Summer term (second half): Monday, June 7 to Thursday, July 22
