Holy Trinity Primary, Rothwell, to build new school

The School Rebuilding Programme carries out major rebuilding and refurbishment projects at school and sixth-form college buildings across England, with buildings prioritised according to their condition.

New state-of-the-art school

The project will see a new state-of-the-art, single-storey school built on our existing site. The new school will not only include the latest and most up-to-date classroom technology but will also use the latest technology for heating and energy efficiency.

The new building will provide students with a modern environment as well as a school building that is more sustainable and environmentally friendly, which complements Abbey Multi Academy Trust’s Sustainability Strategy, where they hope to play their part in building a greener future for the next generation.

Playing our part in a greener future

David Ryder, Head of IT & Infrastructure for Abbey Multi Academy Trust explained: “On the back of the Trust’s successful Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme bid last year, we’re proud that our new facilities at Holy Trinity will build on the work already completed within the Trust to be more sustainable. From speaking to pupils at all our academies, we know they value the importance of us playing our part in a more sustainable future.”

With a new, state-of-the-art building set for completion in spring 2024, this is an incredibly exciting time for the staff and pupils at Holy Trinity.

Gina Marsland, Head of School, commented: “We are all incredibly excited about this new project, and are looking forward to involving our children, school families and whole community in creating an environment we are proud of. While this new building is a fabulous development, we will not be losing our ‘small school big heart’ feel!”
