Dixon Unity School in Leeds adjusts uniform policy to allow students to wear coats outdoors during cold snap
A school in Leeds has adjusted its policy of not letting students outdoors with their coats on due to the freezing weather that has swept across the country.
Dixons Unity Academy in Armley says it has adjusted its uniform policy so that students can now wear their coats while outside on school grounds.

It comes after a series of weather warnings were issued across Leeds as Storm Goretti swept across the country; causing temperatures to plummet.
Further Met Office weather warnings for snow and ice have been issued for Leeds for the coming days.
Temperatures are forecast to drop below freezing in Leeds tonight (Friday January 9) and tomorrow (Saturday January 10), with sleet and strong winds predicted for Sunday (January 11).
The school said it had reviewed its policy and urged parents to contact them if they had any concerns about the uniform policy.
A spokesperson for the Whingate Road school told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “The wellbeing of our students is our foremost concern. We have a longstanding policy on uniform, which we keep under regular review.
“Given the current extreme weather, we are making a temporary adjustment to ensure any student is able to wear their coat if they choose to go outside during the day.
“We encourage parents with any concerns to continue raising them directly with us.”
