Anchor opens new care home in Roundhay

This week the Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung, joined Anchor to officially open the doors of its new care home at The Manor House Roundhay, Leeds.

Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life, invited the Mayor and professionals from the local community for a special launch event of the newly built care home on Park Avenue.  

he official ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by guest of honour Valerie Abrahams, who is the home’s first resident.

The Manor House, Roundhay, is a luxurious new care home in Leeds offering first class residential and residential dementia care in a beautiful setting close to Roundhay Park.

Future residents will enjoy high quality accommodation and a wide range of impressive facilities and the new home will ultimately bring 60 new jobs to the local area.  

Community is at the heart of the home, with communal spaces, perfect for socialising with friends, relaxing, and enjoying daily life. These are complemented by landscaped gardens and an engaging activities programme of social events.  

After enjoying a tour of the home alongside with Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay, Councillor Katung said: “It was lovely to meet with Anchor colleagues and professionals from the local community, and experience for myself the warm welcome residents will receive.   “

Home manager Clare Erskine said: “We had a fantastic day welcoming the Mayor of Leeds to our luxurious new home and are really looking forward to opening our doors on October 21 and welcoming our residents.

“We also had a really successful public open day on Sunday when we were able to showcase the wonderful facilities we have here at the Manor House in Roundhay to the local community.”
