MPs are set to meet on June 11 to discuss the crisis facing British zoos as they are forced to remain closed under restrictions.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park said the safety and health of their animals, staff team and visitors is 'paramount'.

Staff at the park have carried out detailed planning to determine how to control numbers through advance ticket sales and time slots.

Adaptation of the site and protocols for visitor management have also been discussed in line with Government guidance, CEO John Minion said.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to more than 450 animals including many endangered species.

The centre for educational and conservation work has had to be put on hold due to the current restrictions according to the park.
