TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Excite and Entertain Leeds 2017 talent competition with Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate

The Grosvenor Casinos “Excite & Entertain Leeds 2017” competition (referred to as the “Competition”) is open to residents of England, Scotland and Wales (excludes Republic of Ireland) who are aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.

The Competition can be entered at www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk and commences at 00:01 on Thursday, 8 December 2016 and ends at 23:59 on Thursday, 5 January 2017.

To enter either of the performing categories, entrants must record or film their performance entry (max. 2 mins), upload it to YouTube and send the link to Yorkshire Evening Post at [email protected]. For the creative design category, entrants must email a jpeg of their artwork. In addition, entrants are required to submit their name, age, address, contact number, email, social media and a brief biography of themselves, plus maximum of two landscape photos.

Dates of “The Events”: All entrants must be available to attend judging events including:

* Private Showcase at Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate on Saturday (evening) 21 January 2017

* Live Final in Leeds City Centre on Saturday (daytime) 28 January 2017

* Grand Launch event at Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate on Saturday (evening) 4 February 2017

Private Showcase winners: The Promoter will contact the first round winners by 23:59 on Monday, 9 January 2017. Winners must notify the Promoter of receipt of their winner’s correspondence by 23:59 on Wednesday, 11 January 2017 and confirm that they can attend the Private Showcase on Saturday, 21 January 2017. Failure to acknowledge receipt by the specified date may result in forfeiture of the prize and reallocation of the prize to another contestant.

Live Final winners: The Promoter will contact the winners of the Private Showcase by 23:59 on Sunday, 22 January 2017. Winners must notify the Promoter of receipt of their winner’s correspondence by 23:59 on Tuesday, 24 January 2017 and confirm that they can attend the Live Final on Saturday, 28 January 2017. Failure to acknowledge receipt by the specified date may result in forfeiture of the prize and reallocation of the prize to another contestant.

Grand Launch winners: The Promoter will contact the winners of the Live Final by 23:59 on Saturday, 28 January 2017. Winners must notify the Promoter of receipt of their winner’s correspondence by 23:59 on Monday, 30 January 2017 and confirm that they can attend the Grand Launch on Saturday, 4 February 2017. Failure to acknowledge receipt by the specified date may result in forfeiture of the prize and reallocation of the prize to another contestant.

Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families (parents, spouse, siblings, grandparents) and anyone, including the Promoter's agents and suppliers who are professionally connected with the Competition, are not eligible to enter.

Where there are no copyright infringements, the Promoter and Yorkshire Evening Post reserve the right to use materials for press purposes.

Any entries that infringe any applicable laws or include material which is obscene, indecent, pornographic, offensive, defamatory, threatening, liable to incite racial hatred or acts of terrorism, menacing or blasphemous shall be considered invalid.

Any equipment, props or instruments are the sole responsibility of the contestant and the Promoter accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of any equipment.

The Promoter will not be responsible for any injury or damage caused by the negligence of contestants.

By entering the Competition entrants give permission for the Promoter to use all photos, audio, video or any other form of recording provided as part of their entry or taken during the Events on air, websites and any literature.

A maximum of 10 people is allowed in any group entries into the Competition, due to space restrictions.

Certain restrictions may apply to some acts for safety reasons.

The Promoter reserves the right to vary or cancel the Events and timings for operational and/or safety reasons at their discretion.

The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity, age and address of any entrant before such person may take part in the Events.

By participating in this Competition you agree to a) being contacted by the Promoter in relation to the Competition and b) the Promoter publicizing details of the win together with the winner’s name and location to the media (including social media) and/or making the winner’s name and location available on request. The judges’ decisions are final.

Competition prizes for the performing arts and musical performers categories include £2,500 cash, a six-month contract with industry leading music and entertainment agency, Champions, and four paid-for appearances at Grosvenor Casino Leeds Westgate.

Competition prize for creative design category includes £2,500 cash and production or creative direction of artwork to be featured on outdoor billboard located in Leeds City Centre.

The prizes are not transferrable in any way and there is no cash or other alternative to the stated or awarded prize in respect of the prizes of contracts with Champions and/or the production or creative direction of artwork to be featured on an outdoor billboard.

The Promoter is the sole arbiter of this Competition and its decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
