Superdrug: health and beauty retailer opening 30 new UK stores in 2026 - with a major site in Yorkshire

The presence of a popular health and beauty retailer in Yorkshire is set to grow this year.
Superdrug has confirmed plans to open 30 new stores across the UK in 2026, as part of a major push towards larger, experience-led locations.
One of the confirmed openings will be at the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds, adding to a growing list of retail park and “destination” sites the brand believes better reflect how customers now shop for beauty and healthcare products.
The expansion will also create around 600 new jobs nationwide, spanning store teams, management and in-store services.
Superdrug says the move comes in response to continued strong demand for physical shopping, particularly when it offers something more than convenience.
Rather than smaller high-street units, the retailer is focusing on bigger stores designed to encourage browsing, discovery and hands-on advice, especially across beauty, skincare and health services.
Alongside the new openings, the company plans to refurbish 60 existing stores during 2026.
Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s property director, said the strategy was a “clear vote of confidence” in UK retail.
She added that customers increasingly want welcoming spaces where they can access trusted products, expertise and affordable treatments under one roof, rather than simply picking items off a shelf.
The expansion builds on recent growth for the business. Despite rising wage costs and higher taxes, Superdrug reported adding more than 600 jobs in 2024 alone, following the opening of 13 new stores.
Confirmed new Superdrug store openings so far include:
- Crawley, West Sussex
- Cwmbran Retail Park, Wales
- Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Scotland
- East Kilbride, Scotland
- White Rose Leeds, West Yorkshire
Further locations are expected to be announced later this year.
