Research reveals water bills on the rise but not for Yorkshire residents

Over the last three years, the cost of household water bills in England and Wales has fluctuated, although new research by shows that water bills are predominantly on the rise.

The change in average bill prices, each year, is entirely dependent on each individual water supplier, and each price is calculated by the availability of water and the size of the region the household is situated within.

In most cases, customers receive a combined water and sewerage bill by the same supplier in England and Wales, per year.

However, in some areas, customers may have to pay their water and sewerage bills to two separate companies.

The research, carried out by Showerstoyou.co.uk, shows Yorkshire Water customers paid £373 for combined water and sewerage in 2017/18 compared with a national UK average of £395.
