New UK government hub opens at Wellington Place for more than 6,000 civil servants
A new UK government hub at Wellington Place Leeds is set to become home to more than 6,000 civil servants.
The building at 7-8 Wellington Place is the latest to be completed at the 22-acre development site offering state-of-the-art working environments alongside leisure and retail facilities.
It is believed that 1 in 10 of all jobs in central Leeds will be housed within the development after completion.
The office has been fitted with air distribution products supplied by Waterloo Air Products.
Working with principal contractor Wates Group, Waterloo was chosen due to its ability to supply products that would accommodate the client’s preferred perforated ceiling tiles without any need for modification.
Matt Bell, Project Engineer with Wates Group, said: “Waterloo offered a professional service and brilliant support throughout the design stage of the build,”
“We were invited to develop the concealed grille solution at Waterloo’s integral testing facility, and they provided test reports to supplement the technical submission, this gave us confidence we were selecting the right product to meet the project requirements.
"Overall, the service we received was fantastic.
"The products were delivered on time, manufactured to a high standard and ultimately we handed over the building to a happy client.”
