The city has welcomed everything from Gino D'Acampo’s flagship restaurant to new independent bars, pubs and cafes – and the return of some familiar names. And there are a number of exciting new businesses set to open later this year, from a VIP karaoke bar to a new fried chicken restaurant.
Here are 12 exciting new businesses that have opened in Leeds – and seven more on the way.

8. M&S White Rose cafe

9. Sancerre
Housed in the former Guiseley Library in Otley Road, the £2million Sancerre opened on May 26. It's a fusion of a contemporary bar, fine-dining restaurant and al fresco dining space, with timeless lighting, tiling and mirrors. Offering a contemporary take on European recipes, Sancerre’s menu has been designed by classically-trained chefs to showcase the best of British produce, and celebrate the stories behind locally-sourced ingredients. 10. Jamrock
After a stint serving at Trinity Kitchen earlier this year, Jamrock opened its new restaurant in Kirkgate on May 26. Formerly located on Call Lane, the new restaurant will continue to serve traditional Caribbean cuisine and a range of cocktails and beers - inspired by the food owner Oral Blackford grew up eating in Jamaica. 11. The Duncan
The city centre pub finally reopened its doors on May 28 after two years of being closed, much to the delight of returning regulars. The pub is popular with Leeds United fans and visitors have previously found themselves rubbing shoulders with club directors. Photo: National World
12. Libations Rum
The award-winning rum company has opened one of the first rum distilleries and blending houses in Northern England - and it's open to visitors on Friday and Saturday each week.
