The Mad Greek on Stainbeck Lane in Chapel Allerton has been closed since last Thursday (October 27).

The takeaway restaurant’s owner, Kostas Tsiknakis, told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the closure was brought about by an ongoing dispute with his landlord.

He said he wants to stay at the location and is considering an appeal against the closure.

Mr Tsiknakis was already in the midst of a dispute with his neighbours, pizza restaurant Rudy’s, after they erected a set of rolling shutters that he claimed were blocking people from seeing his restaurant and costing him business.

Some of the shutters were recently removed after Leeds City Council said that planning permission had not been acquired to erect the shutters on the property, which is in a conservation area.
