Leeds city centre bank unveils major new look after £1million 'glow-up'

Warm welcome back as Lloyds reopens new-look branch on Briggate

Banking group Lloyds has reopened its main hub in Leeds following a £1million glow-up.

Returning customers were greeted by colleagues with goody bags and cake to celebrate the relaunch, with the branch now sporting a more modern and relaxed look for its regulars.

The investment means the space is now more welcoming, with new separate offices for private financial chats and dedicated spaces for assistance with online and mobile banking.

Last week, Lloyds Banking Group confirmed that it would be closing 250 branches throughout 2026 and 2027.

The renovations at the improved Leeds branch will seek to reconnect with residents to get help with their banking face-to-face.

“The team and I are really happy to welcome back customers back through our doors on Briggate,” said Daniel Robinson, Lloyds Senior Manager for Leeds Briggate.

“Customers are welcome to come in with everyday banking questions, not just when you have a bigger decision to make.

“Whether you’re looking for a little reassurance or a more detailed conversation, we’re here to help people across Leeds feel more confident about their finances.”

The new branch’s opening hours are as follows:

  • 9.30am-4.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • 10am-4..30pm Wednesday
  • 9.30am to 3pm on Saturday
