Paul McCallum, Founder and Managing Director of P.J Staffing Ltd, has been nominated in two categories at the Yorkshire Choice Awards 2026, marking a significant moment as he enters his seventh year in business.

Paul has been nominated for both the Charitable Business Award 2026 and Yorkshire Entrepreneur of the Year 2026, recognising his contribution to Yorkshire’s business community and his ongoing commitment to giving back.

Founded in February 2020, just weeks before the UK entered lockdown, PJ Staffing has grown into a trusted, people-first recruitment partner supporting businesses across Yorkshire and throughout the UK. The Leeds-based agency supplies staffing solutions across cleaning, catering and hospitality, events and commercial roles, working with everyone from independent venues to large-scale events and corporate clients.

At the heart of PJ Staffing’s growth is a values-led approach focused on honesty, integrity and long-term relationships, supporting both clients and candidates through tailored, responsive recruitment solutions.

Reflecting on the nominations, Paul McCallum said: “February 2020 marked the start of my journey as a business owner.

"Six years on, I’m still the same person, but far stronger, more knowledgeable and more confident thanks to the people around me.

"Being nominated for two Yorkshire Choice Awards is something I’m incredibly proud of, regardless of the outcome. It’s a real reminder that hard work, resilience and doing business the right way does get noticed.”

In addition to commercial success, PJ Staffing is known for its community and charitable involvement, including long-standing support for Candlelighters, the Yorkshire children’s cancer charity.

The Yorkshire Choice Awards ceremony on 5 June 2026 will coincide with their Pink It Up Weekender Paul has been instrumental in supporting, making the occasion particularly meaningful.

Paul added: “This journey wouldn’t be possible without our candidates, clients, suppliers, family, friends and fellow business owners. Every single person who has been part of PJ Staffing has made an impact, and I’m hugely grateful for that support.”

The Yorkshire Choice Awards are decided by public vote, followed by independent adjudication once voting closes. Finalists and winners will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner on 5 June 2026.

Paul concluded: “I’d also like to congratulate all fellow nominees. Yorkshire is full of brilliant businesses and people, and it’s an honour to be recognised alongside them.”
