Homes and small businesses are now able to experience some of the fastest internet access speeds available in the UK, Vodafone said.

Vodafone Gigafast Broadband uses all optical-fibre cables at every stage of the connection.

"As a result, customers can enjoy download speeds 16 times faster, and upload speeds 125 times faster, than the average fixed broadband service in the UK," the company said in a press release.

The service has also gone live in Huddersfield as part of Vodafone's plan to bring Gigafast Broadband to at least 15 UK towns and cities during 2020.

Rebecca Lowe was one of the first customers to sign up to Vodafone’s full-fibre in Leeds.

She and her family signed up for the 900mpbs service after experiencing problems using multiple devices in their existing connection.

Rebecca said: “Our previous broadband service was extremely slow especially during evenings and weekends. It made watching streaming services impossible, as they would take hours to load.

"The difference with Vodafone Gigafast Broadband was immediate.

"Watching our Smart TV is a much better experience and everyone can still use other devices without issues.

"It has saved us all more time as previously we would have been forced to wait for the internet connection to catch up.”
