For more than 30 years, the team at Kirkstall Precision Engineering in Leeds has designed, and manufactured complex medical devices to tight deadlines.

Bosses at Kirkstall Precision said they can help design and manufacture new ventilators.

The firm, which employs 42 staff, can also provide replacement parts to get old and broken ventilators up and running.

Adam Thornton, the company’s managing director, said Kirkstall Precision is on stand-by to help the country in its time of need.

He said: “A lot of these products are complex and this is what we do day in and day out.

“We could start immediately on these components. We’ve got a large capability here.”

He stressed that his firm could start work to help the Government without having to make major adjustments.

Mr Thornton added: “We are always very busy. Not a lot of companies do what we do.”
