Investment firm secures senior appointment to help it expand

Ms Black, who has more than 15 years experience in investment management, will work with private clients, as well as sitting on the firm’s investment committee.

Myddleton Croft last month announced a pre-tax profit of £224,000 on turnover of £829,000. Despite an increase in regulatory costs, turnover was up by 10 per cent and funds under management rose by 20 per cent, to £70m.

Julie Jones, the managing director of Myddleton Croft, said: “The firm has seen 55 per cent growth in assets under management over the last three years, and our latest appointment is part of the ongoing commitment to expanding the strength of our team ensuring that clients continue to receive the best possible service.”

Ms Black said: “I am really excited to be joining the Myddleton Croft team – it is a niche firm which has built a strong reputation based on successful discretionary investment management, and it has huge potential to go further.

“I am looking forward to working with Julie and the team to build on the solid foundations that they have established, taking the business through the next stage of its growth.”

Founded by chairman David Cowell, Myddleton Croft has grown to an eight-strong team, led by Ms Jones and investment director Patrick Toes.

Ms Black’s appointment follows the appointment of Laura Broadhead, who joined the firm at the end of last year. The firm works with independent financial advisers and it also serves private clients, charities, pension funds and trusts.
