The simple delivery menu will feature mouth-watering Souvlaki and Gyros, as well as modern twists on specialities such as feta and courgette fritters and halloumi fries.

The Athenian’s Souvlaki is made with soft, handmade pita wrapped around lightly chargrilled meat or cheese which has been marinated in olive oil, lemon and Greek herbs, all served with an array of salads and sauces.

There will be a 50 per cent discount offered to all NHS staff when the Deliveroo Editions kitchen is launched.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "The Athenian is taking daily measures to ensure it continues to trade in a safe environment in the current climate, with the health and wellbeing of staff remaining a top priority.

"Working closely with Deliveroo will allow The Athenian to feed those still in isolation, encouraging social distancing and keeping staff in work, maintaining company morale."

The Athenian will be available exclusively for delivery on Deliveroo from Wednesday, July 1.
